New, unique software provides brokers, shippers and insurers with real-time FMCSA data to select and monitor motor carrier safety performance
Portland, Oregon — Vigillo LLC, creators of Daylight™, the CSA Platform for Transportation, today announced the release of Carrier Select™ the first product in its Shipper/Broker Suite. The latest unique offering from Vigillo allows freight brokers, shippers and insurance providers to use real-time data to analyze motor carrier performance and make more informed choices.
“Freight brokers, shippers and insurers have become increasingly concerned with monitoring the insurance, operating authority, safety rating, and CSA safety performance of their motor carrier partners,” said Steven G. Bryan, CEO of Vigillo. “Carrier Select taps into critical database sources to give them real-time visibility into the ever changing landscape of a carrier’s overall safety and risk profile. There is no other product that provides up-to-the-minute information, user and community configurable rules and tags and social infrastructure at such a low cost.”
The Carrier Select application is pre-populated with information on over 1.2 million motor carriers in the FMCSA Census database. A key differentiator of the product is its real-time, across the board updates to information on a carrier’s insurance status, operating authority and safety performance, including CSA.
Carrier Select provides tools to set selection criteria through rules, filters and tags, as well asgeo-location features. Users can create a “My Carrier” list and control the parameters they use to monitor and evaluate motor carrier partners. Among the analysis capabilities are carrier type, location, and CSA scores for each BASIC. With Carrier Select, brokers, insurers and shippers decide what data they feel is important to monitor and define and will receive reports if that data falls outside an acceptable range.
The benefits of Carrier Select are apparent to insurance brokers. “Carrier Select will become a standard and important tool for trucking insurance brokers and underwriters to assess their customer base on an ongoing, real time basis,” stated Thomas Dickmeyer, CEO of Cline Wood Agency, Inc., a national provider of insurance and risk management products and services to the transportation industry. “The ease of access to safety data, insurance history and operating authority information, and the ability to set custom parameters in Carrier Select provides real value. We are excited to begin using the program.”
